Arts Building and the Playhouse Theatre
The
Arts Building serves as the administration center of the College of
Arts and Architecture.
Designed by the architectural firm of Esbach, Pullinger and Stevens, the modern-style structure opened in 1965. Much of the building's space is occupied by The Playhouse, a 436-seat proscenium theatre used by the School of Theatre and Pennsylvania Centre Stage.
The building also houses offices for faculty and staff in the School of Theatre and the Department of Art History, plus rehearsal studios.
