Pavilion Theatre
A
performance space with an unusual history, the Pavilion Theatre opened
in 1914 as Penn State's original Livestock Judging Pavilion. It was
designed by the partnership of Olds and Klauder.
In 1960, the first of several renovations converted the oval-shaped structure into a theatre.
Today the 310-seat theatre, featuring an arena-style stage, serves as one of the two performance spaces for the School of Theatre and Pennsylvania Centre Stage.
MetaStages, a School of Theatre outreach program for children in kindergarten through 12th grade, also conducts its education programs at the Pavilion.
