Spring 2008 Graduation

May 17, 2008

Preceding the commencement ceremony a continental breakfast will be held from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. to honor graduates, their families, and guests.  The reception will be hosted by Dean Barbara Korner in the Walters Courtyard bordered by the Arts Building, Music Building I, and the Forum.

Tickets are not required to attend the reception or graduation in Eisenhower Auditorium.  Name cards will be distributed at Eisenhower Auditorium the day of the commencement ceremony.

9:30 – 11:00 a.m.: Reception in the Walters Courtyard

11:00 a.m.: Please be in your cap and gown.  Graduates gather around their marshals.

Art History / Orange
Integrative Arts / Teal
Landscape Architecture / Green
School of Music / Blue
Theatre Arts / Yellow
School of Visual Arts / Red

Student Marshals will hold banners from the various units.

11:15 a.m.: Marshals and graduating seniors proceed to Eisenhower Auditorium in an informal procession led by the Penn State Dixieland Combo.  Faculty and guests follow in the procession.

11:30 a.m.: The graduates enter the building and go to the appropriate corridor.  Faculty Marshals distribute name cards. 

Left Corridor – Art History, Integrative Arts, Visual Arts
Right Corridor – Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Music, Theatre
Guests enter the building and are seated in the auditorium.

12:00 noon: Graduation begins.
