Cello Recital — "Mostly Music of the Americas"

On Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 12:30 p.m., Professor Kim Cook of the Penn State School of Music will perform a cello recital with pianist Louima Lilite in the Esber Recital Hall. This program is part of the series sponsored by the Institute for the Arts and Humanities. The program will feature works by Ginastera, Villa Lobos, Boccherini and spirituals arranged by H.T. Burleigh and by Bruce Trinkley. As a grant recipient of the Institute, Cook will also perform recitals in Connecticut, the Americas Society in New York City, and at the Baltimore Museum of Art. A graduate of Yale University, she has performed as a soloist in Europe, the Middle East, China, Latin America and the U.S. As Artistic Ambassador for the U.S. State Department, she has toured extensively in Central and South America. The concert is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served before and after the recital.
