Band Week April 26-29

Throughout the course of the week, starting on Tuesday, April 26, there will be multiple band concerts. To start off the events, the Campus Band, directed by Jon Watts and Joe Palmeter, will perform at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26 in Eisenhower Auditorium. Repertoire will include Sea Songs by Vaughan Williams, Courtly Airs and Dances by Nelson, Chant and Jubilo by McBeth, O Magnum Mysterium by Lauridsen/Reynolds, Symphony No. 1 by Bukvich, Amazing Grace by Ticheli and Triumphant Fanfare by Saucedo. Later in the evening (8:30 p.m.) the Concert Band will perform in the same venue, Eisenhower Auditorium. The concert band is directed by O. Richard Bundy. Repertoire will include Symphonic Dance No. 3 "Fiesta" by Williams, Prelude and Fugue in A-flat by Bach/Moehlmann, Of Sailors and Whales by McBeth, Color by Margolis, Rhosymedre by Vaughan William/ Beeler and Colossus of Columbia by Alexander/Bainum.
On Wednesday, April 27, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, directed by Dennis Glocke, will perform in Eisenhower Auditorium at 8:00 p.m. This is a joint concert with the Percussion Ensemble directed by C. Dan Armstrong. Repertoire will include the 1610 Vespers by Monteverdi, Mlada Suite by Rimsky Korsakov, Poem by Griffes featuring Cynthia Carpentieri, flute, Symphonic Metamorphosis by Hindemith, Ionization by Varese and Marimba Spiritual by Miki featuring Rick Willis, marimba.
To conclude the week, the Symphonic Band, directed by Dennis Glocke will perform in Eisenhower Auditorium at 8:00 p.m. on April 28. Repertoire will include Handel in the Strand by Grainger, Aria and Toccata by Willis, Ilyrian Dances by Woolfenden, Prelude on Three Welsh Hymn Tunes by Vaughan Williams and Fiesta Del Pacifico by Nixon.
Tickets for all events are $ 5 for adults and $3.50 for students.
