Carlin, a revolutionary stand-up comedian on social commentary, performs 90 concerts each year around the country, selling almost a quarter of a million tickets. For more than four decades, he has used his razor-sharp humor to point out hypocrisy in people's actions and words. He is refreshingly forthright, cogently making points that few in his audience would dare to think much less express. He is not only distinguished by his choice of subject matter, but also by his unique viewpoints and his "in your face" delivery.
Carlin's 13th HBO comedy special, George Carlin: Life is Worth Losing, premiered on Nov. 5. A DVD and CD of the show will follow in January, bringing his album total, including compilations and books on tape, to 25.
Carlin's third book, When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?, was published by Hyperion in 2004 and is now out in paperback. The book reached number two on The New York Times Best Seller List and also had the honor of being banned by Wal-Mart. His previous books include Brain Droppings and Napalm & Silly Putty. The comedian appeared in 2004's Jersey Girl, his 11th feature film.
Also appearing as part of this promoter-presented event is special guest Dennis Blair.
