Annual Celebration of African American Spirituals

The annual concert celebration of African American Spirituals will be held Friday, February 25 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 27 at 2:00 p.m. in Esber Recital Hall. Performances by choirs from the Penn State School of Music (Oriana Singers, University Choir, Men's Glee Club) as well as Chanson, a women's choir from Central Dauphin High School, Harrisburg, PA, will occur at the Friday evening concert.

Essence of Joy will present works by William Dawson, Roland Carter, Moses Hogan, Anthony Leach, Rosephanye Powell, Margaret Bonds and Uzee Brown, Jr. at the Sunday concert. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door: general admission tickets are $4, student tickets are $2.
