Christian Baldini's Graduate Conducting Recital
February 21, 2005
On Monday, February 28 at 8:00 p.m. you are invited to hear the result of hard work, talent and team work in Esber Recital Hall. More than 40 of the finest musicians in the School of Music have joined Christian Baldini for his conducting graduate recital. Classic works from the repertoire like Barber's Adagio for Strings, Beethoven's Fourth Symphony will be performed, along with a brand new piece especially composed for the occasion entitled Nel Mezzo, by Christian Baldini. The audience will be "in the middle" of the music, surrounded by the musicians, as the title suggests. "In the middle" is also the beginning of the first sentence of the "Divine Comedy" by Dante Alighieri. It refers to being in the middle of one's own life, in the middle of encountered feelings and on a transitional passage, not yet knowing the final destination of this wonderful journey that life is. This concert is free and open to the public.
