Rutkowski Presents Paper in Arizona

Joanne Rutkowski, professor of music education and coordinator of the music education programs, presented a paper, "The singing worlds of children: A cross-cultural study of first graders' use of singing voice when singing songs from their own and other cultural traditions," at the Desert Skies Symposium on Research in Music Education, sponsored by the University of Arizona, February 24-26, 2005, in Tucson, Ariz. Ming-Jen Chuang, assistant professor of music education at the Taipei Municipal Teachers College, and Claudia Gluschankof, head of music education studies in the Early Childhood Department at the Levinsky College of Education, Israel, were co-authors.
