Richard Seraphinoff, Natural Horn Guest Artist

The natural horn virtuoso, Richard Seraphinoff, will present a masterclass and concert in Esber Recital Hall on Wednesday, February 9. The masterclass will start at 3:00 p.m. and the concert will start at 8:00 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Seraphinoff holds degrees in horn performance from Wayne State University and Indiana University. Among his horn teachers are Lowell Greer, Philip Farkas, Meir Rimon, Francis Orval, Michael Hatfield, and Myron Bloom and Eugene Wade. Mr. Seraphinoff teaches modern valve horn, natural horn, a doctoral course in brass literature, and chamber music. He has performed with the Detroit Symphony, the Toledo Symphony Orchestras and the Michigan Opera Theater. He was a winner of the Erwin Bodky Early Music Competition and the Heldenleben Horn Competition. For further inquires please ask professor of horn Lisa Bontrager.
