Veteran Producers to Give Presentation on Surround Sound Mixing and Recording
January 12, 2005
Veteran producers Paul Antonell and Rich Tozzoli will discuss the latest trends in audio technology in a presentation on surround sound mixing and recording from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, in Esber Recital Hall, Music Building I, on the University Park campus.
After more than 20 years in the music industry, Antonell has seen the recording studio through all of its trends—from 8-track analog to multi-track digital surround mixing. He has worked on projects with Natalie Merchant, Parliament Funkadelic and Reto Burrell. Antonell is the founder of Clubhouse Incorporated, one of only a handful of “ground-up” residential recording facilities in the world.
Tozzoli is a producer, mixer, computer audio guru and multi-channel sound specialist. He's also a senior editor for Surround Professional magazine, as well as a contributing editor for Pro Sound News. His myriad of credits includes surround remixes for Carly Simon, Average White Band, Foghat, Al DiMeola and many more. He and his partners at Gizmo Sound also produce media and television spots for such clients as VH-1, MTV and Comedy Central, as well as literally hundreds of audio books and several dozen DVD titles.
This presentation is funded by the University Park Allocation Committee.
