Carr to Present on Stravinsky and Ramuz Collaboration

Maureen Carr, professor of music, will present a lecture at 2:00 p.m. on March 19 in 115 Music Building I on the University Park Campus. Her lecture will explore the collaboration between Igor Stravinsky and Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz for Histoire du soldat (1918). Carr's presentation will feature highlights from her new book Stravinsky's Histoire du soldat, video stills from performances by the Royal Danish Ballet and listening excerpts to highlight the motivic structure of the work.
The Pennsylvania Centre Orchestra (PCO) is co-sponsoring the lecture and will perform Igor Stravinsky's Histoire du soldat (1918) at 7:30 p.m., March 19 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Carr will give a brief pre-concert introduction preceding the performance.
