School of Music Faculty to Showcase Chamber Music

Faculty members of Penn State's School of Music will be featured in a recital Saturday, November 12, at 4 P.M. in Esber Recital Hall on the University Park campus. The program is presented jointly with the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association as part of their 2005 State Conference, which has collaborative music-making as a theme with the slogan "Plays Well with Others." Pianist Marylène Dosse will perform the Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante of Chopin. Tenor Richard Kennedy and pianist Steven Smith will perform songs by Beethoven, Brahms and Britten; the violin-piano Duo Concertant, consisting of James Lyon and Timothy Shafer, will conclude with Prokofiev's Sonata in D Major.
