Student Wins Scholarship from Electronic Theatre Controls

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA — Nick Gonsman, a senior B.F.A. theatre major in the Design & Technology Program, has won a scholarship from Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC), one of the biggest theatre lighting companies in the industry. Gonsman, whose academic emphasis is lighting design, was nominated by William Kenyon, assistant professor of theatre and head of the B.F.A. Program in Design and Technology. The scholarship includes an all-expenses paid trip to Lighting Dimensions International (LDI) this November in Orlando. LDI is one of the largest gatherings of lighting professionals from all walks of the entertainment industry. This year ETC has sponsored only six students to attend this event. Gonsman is the first student from Penn State to receive this honor.
