College of Arts and Architecture to Host Open House for Prospective Students on April 8

March 15, 2006

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – The College of Arts and Architecture is opening its doors to all interested high school students during its first open house on Saturday, April 8, 2006 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Arts Building on the University Park campus.

The college’s performance, design and fine arts programs are among the best in the country and the faculty and staff welcome the opportunity to share them with prospective and incoming students.  Penn State offers degrees in a variety of art, design, and perfomance majors and gives students the experiences and facilities they need to prepare for exciting and productive professional careers.

The open house will provide a comprehensive look at the degree programs available in the College of Arts and Architecture, as well as special opportunities, such as information on study abroad programs, financial aid, and a chance to visit Leete Hall, the newly renovated residence hall that serves as the Arts and Architecture Interest House.  The day’s events are designed so that you can learn about these programs and visit with faculty and students during scheduled tours between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.  For lunch, students and their families can choose to dine in one of the residence halls or another location.  In addition, there are special events and campus tours that will take place after lunch.

Registration deadline is April 1, 2006.
