Temporary Gallery Closings at Palmer Museum of Art

October 6, 2006

The first- and second-floor galleries at the Palmer Museum of Art will be closed at various times in the months of October and November to accommodate carpet replacement. The museum will remain open to the public during these renovations, since only a few galleries will be closed at any one time.

The first floor galleries will be closed from October 30 through November 10, 2006. The second floor galleries, including the special exhibitions Couples Discourse and Recent Acquisitions: American and European Prints, will remain open and will be accessible during this time.

Portions of the second floor will be closed from November 13 through November 24, 2006. The exhibition Couples Discourse and the Hull Gallery on the second floor will remain open during this time, as will the first floor galleries.

Couples Discourse will close earlier than originally scheduled so that the carpet can be replaced in that gallery. The exhibition will close to the public at the end of the day on Friday, December 15, instead of December 22, as originally scheduled.

For more information on a complete schedule of closing dates, visit www.psu.edu/dept/palmermuseum.

The Palmer Museum of Art on the Penn State University Park campus is a free-admission arts resource for the University and surrounding communities. The museum is located on Curtin Road and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
