Landscape Architect George Hargreaves to Give Public Lecture

October 19, 2006

Landscape architect George Hargreaves will give a free public lecture about his recent work at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, in 110 Business Building on the Penn State University Park campus. Hargreaves is the second speaker this year in the Department of Landscape Architecture’s Bracken Lecture Series.

Hargreaves is the Peter Louis Hornbeck Professor in Practice of Landscape Architecture at the Harvard University Design School. His work has at its core a single overriding concern:  connection between culture and the environment, and the connection between the land and its people. He is founder and senior principal of Hargreaves Associates, which offers full services in landscape architecture, planning and urban design. With offices in San Francisco, Cambridge and New York, the firm serves an international clientele, and its projects address a broad range of scales and types.
