Micro-Music-Theatre Works Reveal Confusing Confessions

August 27, 2007

CONFESS\CONFUSE, four micro-music-theatre works by the award-winning team of Bruce Trinkley, composer, and Jason Charnesky, lyricist, will be performed at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, in the Citizens Bank Theatre in the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center. Directed by Richard Edelman, the performance will feature Raymond Sage (tenor), Elisa Matthews (soprano), Margaret Benczak (soprano), Rob Nairn (string bass) and Natalia Paruz (musical saw).

The story involves three ego-driven singer-actors who are forced to improvise in a new experimental performance piece, resulting in tales of a lonely computer chat room lurker, a Victorian American heiress living in a crazy house full of ghosts, two British tourists experiencing passion and confusion in Greece, and a farmer’s wife with a familiar tale.

CONFESS\CONFUSE is also being performed at the Cornelia Street Café in New York City (August 30) and at the Philly Fringe Festival (September 1–2).

Tickets for the Citizens Bank Theatre performance ($10 general/$5 students) are available by calling 814.863.0255. For more information, visit www.myspace.com/confessconfuse.
