Professor of Architecture/Integrative Arts Receives Honors
December 13, 2007
Donald Kunze, Penn State professor of architecture and integrative arts, has been awarded Louisiana State University’s Nadine Carter Russell Endowed Chair for spring 2008. He will conduct a studio and seminar in the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture, focusing on Surrealist gardens developed through analogies drawn from film (Penn State and Louisiana State’s undergraduate landscape architecture programs shared first place in DesignIntelligence magazine’s 2006 rankings). The Russell Chair is intended to bring distinguished artists and designers to the College of Design and is shared among the college’s four disciplines, which include architecture, art, interior design and landscape architecture.
Kunze has also been elected to the board of editors of the Journal of Architectural Education, a two-year post that involves voting on journal policies, reviewing articles, and proposing and sponsoring special theme issues. The JAE is the only blind-reviewed journal serving architectural education in the United States and Canada.
