Assistant Professor of Art Awarded Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Fellowship

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – Cristin Millett, assistant professor of art, has been named a 2007 Individual Creative Artists Fellowship recipient by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA). Millett’s $5,000 fellowship is for sculpture/installation in the visual arts.

Millett, who teaches sculpture courses, including foundry and installation art, received a B.F.A. (1990) from Kent State University and a M.F.A. (1996) from Arizona State University. Her work has been exhibited in numerous one and two-person exhibitions, including the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago, ATHICA (Athens Institute for Contemporary Art, Athens, GA), the Esther Klein Gallery in Philadelphia, the Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockport, Maine, the Icehouse in Phoenix, Arizona, and the Hartnett Gallery at the University of Rochester.  Millett’s art has also been included in invitational and juried exhibitions, both nationally and internationally.

The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts is a state agency that works to develop and promote the continued excellence, diversity and vitality of the arts in Pennsylvania, as well as to broaden the availability and appreciation of arts throughout the state.
