Broadway on Allen Street - Noon in June

Pennsylvania Centre Stage will present Broadway on Allen Street, free noon-time entertainment in the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center, Monday thru Friday, in June. The cabarets are being performed in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Centre Stage production of Baby, June 5 thru 23, and feature the Baby ensemble, as well as Jordan Toronto (last seen in Closer than Ever for Centre Stage).
Week 1: June 4 ~ 9
The Nittany News at Noon - Featuring the ensemble of Baby
Follow the romantic triangles and complications of a local news studio as they attempt to get their news on the air. On this particular day, the lead anchor is in love with both his co-anchor and the weathergirl! The sportcaster has his first day on the job and the stage manager just wants to be on the news herself! The show features such songs as “What You Don't Know About Women,” “She Likes Basketball,” “I Want to Go to Hollywood,” “Heat Wave,” and countless other classics.
Week 2: June 11 ~ 15
The Dance of Romance - Featuring the ensemble of Baby
"Noon June spoon croon"; well not exactly, but we will explore the many facets of one topic everyone can sing (and dance) to: LOVE!
Week 3: June 18 ~ 22
Baby Talk - Starring Jordan Toronto
A cabaret about being pregnant, having babies, and trying to figure out what to do with them once they get here.
Week 4: June 25 ~ 29
My First - Featuring the ensemble of Baby
An intimate revue that chronicles the various first-time adventures of six college students. From the first love, the to the first trip to the library; all possible first times are explored in this cabaret featuring the music of Jerry Herman, Stephen Sondheim, George Gershwin, and Harold Arlen.
