FIRST THURSDAYS
First Thursday events are open to art lovers of all ages and are held in conjunction with First Thursday State College programs, sponsored by the Downtown State College Improvement District. Join us on the first Thursday of every month to enjoy a film, musical performance, gallery talk, hands-on activity, or other art-related event. Film: Manufactured Landscapes (2007, 80 minutes)
This documentary examines the impact of human life on the world's landscape through the eyes of photographer Edard Burtynsky. It was awarded Best Documentary at the 2007 Genie Awards in conjunctin with American Scenery: Different Views in Hudson River School Painting.
A CELEBRATION OF BAROQUE ART AND MUSIC
THE ART OF MUSIC SERIES
The Palmer Museum of Art celebrates the donation of a new baroque painting to its permanent collection, Giovanni Baglione's St. Sebastian Healed by an Angel. In honor of this gift, The Art of Music series will feature baroque music and song performed by faculty and students from Penn State's School of Music.
