Integrative Arts Faculty Recipient of Two International Honors
September 4, 2007
Fang Chen, associate professor of integrative arts, had two of his entries selected as winners in the Good 50x70 Poster Competition, held in Milan, Italy. Both posters, “Make food, not war” and “Stop AIDS,” were exhibited at the prestigious gallery La Triennale, June 19-24, 2007. Good 50x70 is a communication design competition focusing on five social issues that the United Nations recognizes as the plagues of our millennium: AIDS, environmental damage, human rights violations, underdevelopment and war.
Chen has also been selected as the honor laureate for the 15th biennial Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition at Colorado State University, September 14-October 19, 2007, for his outstanding work in the poster medium. His work will be displayed at Lincoln Center in Fort Collins during the exhibition. As honor laureate, Chen will serve as a juror for the exhibition, which features works by 87 artists from 31 countries, and will do in-depth work with Colorado State graphic design students. The exhibition is the only international poster presentation in the United States.
