Geographer William Denevan to Kick Off Bracken Lecture Series

Geographer William Denevan will kick of the 2007-08 John R. Bracken Lecture Series with "1491-1492: The Second Ecological Transition," at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, in 112 Chambers Building on the Penn State University Park campus. The Bracken Lecture is sponsored by the College of Arts and Architecture's Department of Landscape Architecture and is free to the public.
Denevan is professor emeritus of geography and former director of the Latin American Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a past Guggenheim Fellow, Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and has received honors from the Association of American Geographers, and from the Pan American Institute of Geography and History.
