October 1, 2009

During October, the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State will collect children’s books—for school and personal reading—plus school supplies for children in the Luzon region of the Philippines.

Books should be gently used or new and suitable for children in grades kindergarten through 12. School supplies include—but are not limited to—pencils, notebooks, rulers, calculators, glue, tape, staplers, markers, crayons and construction paper.

Donations may be dropped off throughout October at Eisenhower Auditorium, at the corner of Shortlidge and Eisenhower roads on the University Park campus, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays or when a performance is taking place at the venue.

The following presentations take place at Eisenhower in October. Each performance begins at 7:30 p.m., except The Adventures of Harold and the Purple Crayon, which begins at 2 p.m.

Thank You Gregory – Oct. 2

The Adventures of Harold and the Purple Crayon – Oct. 4

Avenue Q – Oct. 6 and 7
